Artist Statement
Being influenced by life near the ocean, her most recent works weave coastal atmosphere with imagined botanical forms, reflecting the pulse of growth, change, and quiet endurance. Her abstract and semi-abstract works come to life through intuition and reflection with an emphasis placed on colour, texture, emotion and movement where the dream-like interpretations of vegetation dissolve into rhythm, memory and sensation, echoing the cyclical pulse of life.
Andree expresses herself through a range of art disciplines including various facets of printmaking and painting using both acrylic and oils. Her style is inspired by abstract expressionism where she enjoys the physical application of media and mark making onto a range of surfaces incorporating a fusion of methods and materials into her work. Feel free to contact Andree if you would like to visit her studio space.
